Duke Mclnnes Suppose you’re an attractive high school girl and you’re not only a member of a large and unique family, but your father is one of the great pioneers of industrial efficiency. Then suppose he decides to apply his unorthodox methods to you and the rest of your family. The results are terribly embarrassing, and funny, and extremely effective! Dad pushes ahead with better organization for his large and delightful family. He puts up a chart for the young people to initial after completing each household task, uses a rug as an imaginary bathtub to demonstrate how to take a really efficient bath and appoints a utilities officer to levy fines on wasters of electricity. While this provides uproarious humor, there’s an imperative reason. Dad has a heart condition which he is keeping a secret. The girls, not knowing this, don’t understand what’s driving him, not does he understand the girls. Anne, the oldest, rebels against him. Then in a deft and moving scene. Dad becomes aware of how much Anne has grown up. This show delighted Sandwich audiences. GREA T JOB!! CAST 1984 YICA 1985 V.I.C.A., Vocational Industrial Clubs of America, is the student organization for the Cooperative Vocational Education program at Sandwich High School. The goal for this program is to prepare students to become a worker whose services will be recongized as honorable by employers and peers. This is accomplished when each student spends one half day on-the-job in training. During the other half day. students receive instruction in the classroom. This makes for a more meaningful experience and bridges the gap school and work. 1 VICA Class officers, left to right: Reporter Kayce Calvert, Treasurer-Karri Allen, Secretary-Dyann Lowery. Next year we are going to complete our developing capabilities. A field trip to Joliet Junior College media center was the highlight of the year. We saw a graphics department in action, as well as a television production studio complete with rows of big lamps all over the ceiling. A control room next to the studio contained lots of video recorders and camera monitors all of which were controlled from one console. Ironically, we were unable to see the darkroom racilities because they were in use. but we did see a lot of cameras and accessories. We also saw the campus which is big and beautiful. Part of the main building is built over a moving body of water. It’s fun to walk along the hall while looking down at the water. 34 HISTORY CLUB 1 Back row left to right: Amy Spies. Tom Marsh. Playing mainly Sophomores and Juniors, the Indians began to get towards the end of the year, featuring a blow-out against Valley Lutheran, and close 92 games against tough Genoa and Burlington.
