The sun was bright as time grew near. Lots of fun was our Homecoming parade, cause the mighty Indians weren't affraid. The J. V. team, to our delight, won over Trojans, without a fight. The Varsity team was not however, as good as J. V. , or as clever. Yet, all in all out tale ends well, for the dance that night was really swell. Junior-Senior Banquet The day? Saturday, May 6 (1972 of course!). The time? 6:30. Roughly 180 juniors and seniors began that Big Night by attending the annual Junior-Senior Banquet. And a happy beginning it was thanks to M. C. Rick Rausch; thanks to the combined efforts of the junior and senior girls who presented Happy Talk and Wonderland by Night respectively; thanks to senior class president Jane Hough and junior class president Phil Grant; thanks to Mrs Kittleson, key speaker; thanks to the senior secret gals ; and thanks to those masterminds Dave Miller and Gene Loyld. Happy Talk sung happily (!) by 11 junior girls. 1...2...3... blush! Junior girls reveal senior secrets. You're kidding! Nobody told me not to eat the paper in my cookie. Smile! You're on Miller-Loyld Camera . CARNIVAL COURT MEMBERS, FRONT ROW, LEFT TO RIGHT: Nancy Hartman, Queen, Curt Lewis, King. BACK ROW: Barry Mes-temaker, Kathi Hanson, Francisco Lopez, Melody Wilhoite, Ed Weisbrook, Claudia Miller. Junior Carnival Theme for the 1973 Junior Carnival was Jungle Book. Date? March 4. Are you beginning to remember? Rehash old memories and you'll discover one ferocious gorilla (alias Gary Larson). Or one mysterious fortune hut. Or a gym full of happy kids. Hey! And how about that dance? Queen Nancy and King Curt were all smiles. Come to think of it, 126 Juniors were smiling too! A Senior Reflects Graduation. ..Iam going to graduate! I am a genuine, certified, walking, talking senior soon to graduate. How unbelievable that four years have gone so quickly! Freshman! Sophomore! Junior! Senior! And then, in a flash, it's gone. Goodbye to that 3:25 buzzer; goodbye to that Monday morning class; goodbye to 105 other seniors; goodbye to a whole way of life. My Freshman year—small, insignificant feelings come to mind. I was a little too giggly, slightly unpredictable, and very much unassured. I close my eyes and remember one Indian-like Steve Marcellus and one huge smoky bonfire. Was that so long ago? ’ One school year later, I proudly called myself a Sophomore. I was cool, now--confident, experienced, established. This was the year of driver's ed; the family car was destined to receive a new dent and gas now symbolized cash. Class rings to be ordered. Which one? Round? Square? Red stone? Blue stone? That ring felt so right on my finger. Whatjs this? I, lowly me, an official upperclassmen? That year started off right, for our homecoming float rated a big blue ribbon. Remember all the hard work that went into our prizewinner? No time at all. . .Junior Carnival; the wild west was upon us. Only two short months later, the class of '72 hosted the Junior-Senior Prom. The theme? Fantasy Land. Queen Debbie and King Steve reigned happily over the festivities. And next post-prom! Never before had I danced 'till the wee hours of the morning! Finally. . .Senior year. I would tease those silly Freshmen would begin plans for an independent future, would send out announcements for my OWN graduation. And, most unbelievable, I would leave behind those classmates I had known so well! NANCY HARTMAN Nance College Reflector 3,4; Assist. Bus. We got off to a whiz-bang start by stealing third place in homecoming competition. With a little bit of praying, alot of practicing, and inspirational directing by coach J. Pekarskee, our class play, If That's Where It's At, Baby, I'm not Going! was a hit. Theme for this year's carnival was Jungle Book. Our big year ended with a successful junior-senior prom.
