Speech, home economics, typing, and English kept her busy studying. The senior class feels very lucky to have had Rocky with them and therefore dedicates this page to Rocky so she might remember Sandwich High School a little better. Rocky enjoys seeing many friends between her classes. Senior Class Officers, FRONT ROW L to R: Sharon Meade, Vice-President, Sharon Rushing, Secretary. On October 22 the sun and wind provided a good atmosphere for the Homecoming Parade, which consisted of numerous floats and five bands. Additional variety was added to the parade by the many gaily decorated bicycles and horseback riders. The cheerleaders added a flavor of enthusiasm to the parade while the Homecoming Court added beauty and charm . The sight of the coaching staff added reassurance of a victory over Plano. Juniors were awarded 2nd place for their float with the theme We'll Walk All Over Them . Homecoming Features The Sophomore Class won 3rd place float award with the theme Plano's Last Stand Festive Floats Although it was their first year for constructing a float, the freshmen worked hard and received 4th place honors with the theme First Satellite in Orbit . The Spanish Club was awarded 1st place for the third year with its float, titled We're Serv'in Reapers A la mode . That Wonderful Year proved to be a very successful theme for this year's Homecoming activities. The huge bonfire, which was lit by Pat Flynn, brought the 1966 Homecoming to a blazing start. Ralph Wallis, a 1963 graduate of Sandwich High School, gave an inspiring talk to the crowd. Student Council President Royce Larson, then announced Tari Flynn as Queen and Ken Miller as King of the Homecoming. Our smashing victory over Plano on Saturday afternoon put all in a gay mood for the dance which began at 8:30 p.m. That Wonderful Ron Cunz (33) determinedly makes another touchdown. Shave the balloon??--One nick and it's gone. Singer Karen Carr entertains with a folk song, Tijuana Jail . Clowns Bob Ferris and Bill Babbitt take their cue from straight-man Bill Enyart, the variety show announcer. Variety Show Discovers Talent Along with the usual festivities of the Junior Carnival, a King and Queen were chosen this year for the Carnival Dance. The cost of the election was a penny a vote for the King and Queen candidate. The Queen was Lorna Anderson and the King was Lindsay Legner. Runners-up were Cindy Mander and Jay French, Penny Silver and Royce Larson, and Sharon Rushing and John Antich. Included in this years Variety Show were singing groups, bands, and comedy acts. The audience was entertained between acts by the show's funnymen, Bob Ferris and Bill Babbitt, along with Bill Enyart as the announcer. Crowd at the Variety Show still dotted with confetti from the carnival enjoys a comedy act. Barker (Bill Babbitt) is balling out Wayne (Bill Enyart) for winning all his prizes just when Emily comes to Wayne's rescue. Wayne (Bill Enyart) is trying to explain to Eleanor (Tari Flynn) why he is with Emily (Sharon Meade). The Frake family was well represented by members of the Senior Class as they performed the play State Fair . The setting was the fair grounds and all the excitement of a possible grand-sweepstakes family winner. The wonderful, warm Frake family wins the sweepstakes and all rejoice with them over thier victory . With the winning of the sweepstake the Frake family is happy again. Eleanor is pleased with Wayne's decision to be himself so she kisses him.
