The Sandwich Future Farmers of America this year took part in many contests and field demonstrations. There were field trips to Gibson City, Illinois and the M W Farm Power Show. The chapter officers went to the Illinois State Fair and there were many more local trips to corn fields to take soil samples and check yields. The chapter participated in the soil judging contest at Earlville, the Parliamentary Procedure Contest at Waterman, and the public speaking and judging contests in the district. The outstanding event was the trip to Kansas City, and the National Convention along with a chapter trip to the International Livestock Show. The chapter held a Donkey Basketball game to raise money to buy a high pressure water cleaner. The Future Homemakers of America began the year with an informal initiation of new members accompanied by a party held at the Forest Preserve. During the year, they raised money through several bake sales and the selling of cook books. They participated jointly with the G.A. A. in a Christmas slumber party, potluck supper, and group caroling. In the spring a style show was sponsored by them as well as the annual Mother-Daughter night out. The activities of the school year were terminated with the formal initiation of new officers held in late May. Latin Club Latin Club, with members from Latin I and Latin II, was active again this year. Each class met once a month to conduct business meetings, and show movies of Latin importance.
