Diane Dobbs and Bemie Krapausky seem to enjoy the atmosphere of the sidewalk cafe. May 2, 1964 marked the opening night for the 1963-1964 Parisian Gardens. The gym had been transformed into a garden wonderland. The coronation platform was encircled by hedges with rose covered trellises behind the throne. The band was also enclosed with hedges. The sidewalk cafe was separated from the dance floor by trellises covered with vines and flowers. The focal point was the small bridge in the center of the dance floor. The high point of the evening was the coronation. As the time drew near, Jim Yingling and Richard Engle, acting as carpet bearers, unrolled the royal carpet. The Courts crossed the bridge to the strains of the Senior theme song, Blue Moon. After the King and Queen had been crowned, they and the Courts danced the Coronation Dance to the Junior theme song, Under Paris Skies. The music of Lew Harker's band drew many people to the dance floor.

The class of 1964 proceeds as the band plays Pomp and Circumstance. GRADUATION On June 5, 1964, 66 seniors, led by Linda Whiteis, junior class president, proceeded up the front walk to begin the commencement ceremony. For the first time in many years, the graduation exercises were held outside. After the invocation by Reverend Dell, Sharen Bagg gave a welcoming speech. Tim Byro and Kama Peterson, as co-salutatorians, gave their speeches. They were followed by JoAnne Neuhauser, valedictorian of the class, who spoke on the problems of leisure time. Sharon Bagg, as president of the senior class, extended a welcome to all. Kama Peterson and Timothy Byro were co-salutatorians. Kama speaks on The World of Work, and Tim gives his speech, The World About Us. 17
