 You'll be as great as Luther Bloodbank and Levi Whitney! Mr. Bumpus explains to Henry. JUNIOR CLASS PLAY All through history infants have had the name Ernest bestowed upon them. There's nothing startling or unusual about the name except to one Henry Gilcrest. Just the name Ernest sends Henry into shock. It all started when Henry's boss fired him, and his girl threw him overboard, and Aunt Ethel ordered him from her boarding house because he could not pay his rent. Henry pours out his troubles to Mr. Bumpus, who tells Henry that life has dealt him a miserable blow. Mr. Bumpus has a friend named Ernest who gets poor downtrodden souls like Henry out of their misery for $17.80. This is where the fun begins, and it continues throughout the entire play. Guided by the skillful direction of Miss Teal, the actors and everyone who helped behind the scenes provided two very interesting and successful performances. Pumpkin? questions Aunt Stella.
