Denny Ferden (American Brother) and Shu talk to Mr. Cooper (English Teacher) about the difference in languages. A.F.S. Shu and Debbie Mall peer out of the jail at the Jr. Carnival. Shu Ueyama is the fourth foreign exchange at S.H.S. There were two girls and one boy preceding him. He resides with the Maynard Ferden family on S. Green Street. Shu's subjects this year are, Eng. IV, Amer. History, Speech, Typing, and Physics. At district speech contest he was rated second in verse reading and proceeded to the regional. Mr. DePinna was his role in the Senior class play. Boys' chorus, mixed chorus, bowling league, rifle club, and track are some of his activities. Shu was made an honorary member of Student Council. He attended two Student Council conventions and one A. F . S. convention. While in town he gave many speech to the school and community. 30
