BAND The band is one of the most popular organizations of S. T. H. S. It has appeared at most of the basket ball games played in Sandwich and has produced a great deal of pep. Considering the fact that the band is composed of only sixteen members half of whom are Junior High School students the band has made rapid progress. Regular attendance and active interest in the band has been stimulated by offering letters to the members. Not only the members of the band but the high school as a whole has been benefited by the good work of this organization. The success of the organization is due to Miss Russell, the director, and the instructor of the band. ORCHESTRA One who has noticed the orchestra in the past sees a marked improvement this year due to the fact that it is larger, and that it meets regularly once a week. The orchestra is divided into two parts, known as the first and second orchestras. Those who are in the first orchestra are the more experienced players; those in the second orchestra are the beginners. There are about twenty-two members in both orchestras. The orchestras have appeared at all the plays and have helped to make them decided successes. They also played for the Dedication of the Masonic Temple and for the Parent-Teacher’s Association. Miss Russell, the director, is to be complimented on her accomplishments with the orchestra this year. I 1928 3S13 Page 301
