Chatham 2 Sandwich 0 Coach Long ' s boys were on the short end of the score but not when it came to determination and Barnstable 6 Sandwich 0 spirit. This is the best last place team our league D - Y 2 Sandwich 1 has ever had, says Mr. Long. The season opened Harwich 3 Sandwich 0 with a great game in a downpour at Falmouth, which we lost 3-2 in double time, and ended with Nauset 2 Sandwich 1 a well -played game at Nauset. Inexperience which Falmouth 2 Sandwich 0 led to a lack of scoring was our major problem. The team played well until it came to putting the Barnstable 3 Sandwich 0 ball in the goal. Chatham 2 Sandwich 0 With the experience gained this year, the team could go from last place to first place next year. D - Y 3 Sandwich 0 The team was led by tri-captains John Thomas, Harwich 2 Sandwich 1 Mark DiPietro, and Pat O ' Connell. The Captains, along with Jeff Lewis and Rusty MacDonald rep- resented Sandwich High School in the All Cape Soccer Exhibition. John Thomas was selected on the All Cape Soc- cer Team and Rusty was named the most im- proved player on the team by Coach Long.
