There was a veteran starting team with 4 of the 5 starters sen- iors. Next year’s tgam will be young and they will improve as they ha e shown this season. With this material Mr. Long is eagerly looking forward to the future. Despite this poor season, many improvements were made towards next year. Mr. Long will lose only two starters and should have a much better team in the future. Terry Willoughby was the leading scorer last season, and should be one of the top players on the Cape next year. Kenn Mize was chosen for the All-Cape-All-Star Team this season. Again this season the team was hampered by the need of a home field. They were forced to practice in a field and practice sessions were limited in length due to this factor. However, the team wishes to ex- press its appreciation to Mr. Moody for use of the field. Next year S.H. S, figures to be in the race for the Cape Championship for which Mr. Long has been waiting so patiently. Despite our poor season Coach Long devoted his full attention to the team. Due to construction on the new school all games had to be played away from home. Gil Condinho served as manager and Rick Serodio as captain. Two seasons ago Rick possessed the highest batting average on the team with a phenomenal .460 average, but slumped to a disappointing . 095 this season. The members of last year’s team who will be coming back are Dan Jeffrey, Carlo Pola, Dave Canning, Rick Gaboon, Harold Keith, Capt. , Rick Serodio, Walt Alvezi, Ed Hoxie, and Bill Marganella. Freshman, S. Miller, B. Bianchi, and B. Earle will also be assets to this year ' s team. The boys regret the loss of coach, Mr. Long, but hope the new coach, Mr. Fenton, who has had many years of baseball experience, will lead the veteran team to a successful season in 1964.
