NINETY ONE YEARS' The events whuch have taken place un the old buuldung of Sandusky Hugh School uf composed un book form would make unterestung readung for the members of four generatuons Hustory records the layung of the cornerstone un 1866 and the enrollment of the furst graduatung class three years later Numerous changes have of course taken place sunce that tume Gas lamps have long sunce been replaced by electrucuty and the cafeterua and kutchen once located un Room 105 have guven way to the need of more classroom space due to the augmented populatuon By 1915 the buuldung had become so overcrowded that ut was neces sary to buuld an addutuon The new school stood as a beautuful landmark un the growung communuty and more than doubled the capacuty of the Hugh School lt us agaun tume for expansuon The number of students has so uncreased as to necessutate the erectuon of an enturely new and much larger hugh school uhus archutectural wonder wull be opened to students un the fall of 1957 It has come tume to close thus overcrowded volume of memorues and events as the graduatuon of the last class the class of 1957 ends the hustory of thus buuldung as a hugh school Through the years we have been ex tremely fortunate to have an outstandung faculty To the regret of students we often lose members of the faculty to returement Thus year un compulung our book we wush to remember Muss Dorothy Balduff and Mr Homer Smuth who retured un 1956 ln remembrance of nearly a century of servuce to thus communuty we proudly deducate the 1957 Fram to thus buuldung and to the last of uts many graduatung classes the class of 57 We hope that you wull recall the many pleasant memorues we have trued to capture un thus book as we re trace our footsteps through our halls of uvy Co edutors Carol McGookey Tom Mover Q T 'YQ Y '.p:4 .
