January 22nd, the band gave a concert. lt featured two novelty numbers entitled The Hunt- ing Scene and Night Beat. Two Seniors, Allan Fisher with the trumpet and Primo Casali with the trombone, gave solos. Oh, shades of blue and yellow or red and white or blue and gold. We finally decided on light and dark green, the prettiest colors we have seen in many a day! Tournaments, iousting, wrestling, and clowns were the high lights of the Senior Class Dance. There were Knights of '53 strewn in profusion at the feet of their fair ladies. Christmas in the air, Christmas in your hair, whichever way you want to take it, it is still glor- ious. The house lights dim, the audience quiets, and the faint strains of Adeste Fideles flow up- ward as the candle light procession of the choir enters Oh how we love every one of you singing to us of the spirit of Christmas The beautiful voices of Dick Kruse Carl Schott Marty Bogert and Elinor Ortner came forth as solos It gave us goose plmples to think that this would be our last Christmas concert Five outstanding girls Gail Pearson Gail Romell Lenchen Galle Marilyn McKenna and Nancy McPeek studied 'Ike mad for the DAR test Our spotlight shines once again on Nancy McPeek who claimed this scholastic honor The Ohio General Scholarships added more to our mlseries but the lights brightened on our stage as the stars from the Student Talent Show glittered The Swing Five and Bill Palmer were chosen as tops lf women were men and men were women what a dilemma that would be It would be a dilemma but a funny one as proven by the Dra matics Club student directors players stage hands and prompters There was a host of stars some of which were Eckhart Lange Darlene Em merick Bob Whmnery and many others Yea Blue' Yea White' Lets fight lets fight' We got our ultimate goal when we defeated St Marys in the Class A tournament 8862 Now on to the finals' March blew us off our feet We got into the swing of things at the Broadway Rhythm the Junior class dance Soft music and blue lights put everyone in a dreamy mood We came in as a What with teachers tests term papers and re ceptlon plans we were all in a dither' The annual Music Festival with the entire participation of the school system gave their per- formance. We were very proud of the band, choir, and scene given by our high school stu- dents. Many of us had passed our Seventeenth Summer but the play of the same name brought back old memories. I just can't make up my mind. What color formal are you getting, Sue? These words come from the feminine leads of our drama. They were preparing for the big night. Our day of ioy and iubilation, our night of pink clouds and angel dust had arrived. Our reception was perfect! The swish of formal gowns on our Manhattan roof garden, the gallantry of our beaus, the warm greetings given to us by our teachers made it a night never to be forgotten. Our speaker and our officers gave us good down-to-earth advice, and made our time of gaiety more solemn. The day after is a phrase to be buried with the past. Oh bury it deep! The next day graduation rehearsal took place The buffet supper was wonderful but the rehearsal made us choke a little because of the fact that the four years of happiness were leav mg us Days had passed and now It is a matter of minutes and seconds before the processional chords are struck This is the climax The ultimate goal but not by any means our final one Solemn straight figures walk with great dig nity into the spotlight Each one has contributed no matter in what small way to the class history Each one has shared in the seriousness and the loyousness of the 53 class Each now comes for ward to take his final bow As the light shines on every face you see not the end but only the beginning of a new role for the players of our production We know that they will play as suc cessful a part in their stage of life as they have here on the stage of Sandusky High ffr l l 'Y,y,6,Hr IQ? 33 P I I I ' . . . Sandusky Senior High recognized this tact and in 1937 Mr. Carl Ruff, head of the Mathe- matics Department, formed a Math Club whose purpose was to discuss things directly concerned with mathe- matics so as to increase the scope and knowledge of those interested students.
