Four years ago when we entered Sandusky Hrgh School our country was complacently enloylng a pseudo peace Today as wr leave our Alma Mater our nation rs engaged In a bitter struggle for survival Durrng our stay In S H S we have seen events ot world wide srgnrfrcanc take place Selective service rationing war bonds and casualty lrsts only grrm prospects rn 7940 have now become commonplace Today Amer ca s traditional abundance of crvrlran goods IS a mere memory of a happier era black markets are thriving and Inflation seriously threatens our future security freshman days Transportatron drfhcultre caused cancellation of ou rnterscholastrc sports program New courses have been added to the curriculum to meet wartime needs and greater emphasis has been pu on all courses which prepare boys for mllltary service Pupils and teachers have performed varrous volunteer actrvrtres and many members of our class are working during and after school rn the war plants and stores throughout the crty An even greater con trfbutron has been made by those classmates and teachers who have entered the armed services With these facts In mind we have tried to produce a FRAM which would adequately portray our actlvrtres during four unusual years probably the most turbulent trmes that have beset any class graduated by Sandusky High School 7 1944 ' . , f , . . .
