Or- ganized in the fall of l955, the club is now working with the Depart- ment of Civil Marksmanship, which furnishes rifles for target practice. The two main purposes of the club is to teach gun safety and better marksmanship. Insignia were issued to students making certain target scores. Creating interest in the teaching profession is the main purpose of F.T.A. This purpose is carried out by special programs which this year have dealt with special education and extern teaching. Various activities have included a trip to the Region Convention at Mt. Pleas- ant, preparation of a Christmas basket, and a Cros-Lex--Sandusky party. The cadet teaching program has been successful on the high school level, it has also aided the elementary teachers. The spring field trip provided enjoyment plus educational value.
