Most people think a tripod is a three-legged animal. But all girls know that it is just an unusual stunt they learned from Mrs. Pat Smith, girls' PE and track teacher from Velva, North Dakota. Physical Education Office and Study Hall Mr. Ken Beaudoin's job is: teaching his P.E. students how to become great athletes, and his football team how to excel. Mrs. McCormick, an avid skier from Ketchum, Idaho, keeps noisy kids quiet in study hall. Mrs. McCandless, our school secretary whose sideline is raising Arabian horses, keeps things straight in the office; Mrs. Tilberg, new at our school, assists her. 19

Social Sciences Mr. Smith is one person who can tell you what happened when, where and why any place in the world. Originally from Minot, N.D., Mr. Smith teaches world history and is boys' counselor. To understand sociology, one must know about govern- ment, and what is U. S. government without an understanding of sociology? Mr. Terry Iverson from Coeur d'Alene, understands both and teaches them well. Coming from the Couer d'Alene area is our new U. S. History and U. S. Government teach- er, Mr. Marker, who looks upon the scholastic achievements of his students with the philosophy of grin and bear it. As Mr. Hunt's basketball team struggles for that one extra point, so do his U. S. History students. But Mr. Hunt, originally from Baker, Oregon, shows how to overcome these struggles and win. 18
