Hello Week was the first big event of the year, and the class elected Carol Ames and Frank Goodwin their friendliest couple. Doug Ward, presidentg Carol Ames, vice-presidentg and Betty Dillon secretary, were chosen as the sophomore class officers. The weeks flew by, and soon the class was an old hand at high school life. They were now acquainted with clubs, activities, and teachers. The class selected Peggy Iverson as their queen candidate at the annual Leohono Carnival. Judy Baldwin and Dave Dillon reigned as King and Queen of the King and Queen's Ball. With the helpful guidance of Mrs. Brunsell and Mr. Fredlund, the class ended their sophomore year. The next year the class returned, this time as juniors. With the same relentless energy, they tackled the oncoming year. Sydney Cramer and Jay Miller were selected as the friendliest couple during Hello Week, and Sydney was the candidate for Leohono Queen. With class officers-Marsha McComas, president, Jay Miller, vice-president, and Judy Shoemaker, secretary-leading them on, the class worked hard selling Christmas trees. They selected their class rings. The ITED, PSAT, National Math, National Merit, and College Board tests were new and stimulating experiences for the juniors. Throughout the year the class was guided by Mr. Croy and Mr. Baldwin. The Class of 1964 entered their senior year with mixed emotions. Before them was an end to the life they had lmown and the beginning of a new and different world. The class was led by Dick Curtis, presidentg Mike Thompson, vice presidentg and Carol Ames, secretary, as class officers. Three seniors led the student body in their final year. Ken Hall, preside ntg Ed Ostrom, vice-president, and Grace Nordgaarden, secretary, were the student body officers for 1963-64. A novelty in student affairs, five senior girls-Sydney Cramer, Sally Davis, Allison Dreier, Judy Baldwin, and Eileen Solomon-were elected cheerleaders and mascot. ' Homecoming was a memorable event with Dana Smith crowned as Homecoming Queen, and Carol Ames, Sydney Cramer, Grace Nordgaarden, and Nancy Smith as princesses. The class was jubilant when their candidate, Beth Kellogg, was crowned Leohono Queen. Sheila Stevens and Pat Gallaher reigned as King and Queen of the Senior Ball, Three Coins in a Fountain. Eileen Solomon, Ed Ostrom, Ruth Walker, and Dick Beyer served as attendants. The Senior Play Dr. Jekell and Mr. Hyde was a huge success. Lyle Bergstrom won the Hunt Trophy and Jerry Kramer award at the annual football banquet, crowning a successful season of no losses. The senior class of 1964 would like to express their sincerest appreciation and gratitude to their advisers--Mr. Kaufman, Mrs. Parker, Mrs. Sodorff, and Mr. Anderson--for helping to add the final chapter in Our Years.
