31 s ' ass gflstory Q ii we entered the ULitt1e Red School Housen in September, 1941. By the time we had learned that we should use the north stairs going up and the south stairs coming down, it was election day. Officers chosen were: Jim Nelson, President Ann Roberts, Vice-president, Margery Pederson, Secretary-treasurer. In September We gave ourselves a party.' The seniors didn't get to initiate so consequently refused to sponsor a frosh-senior party. In the spring we had a picnic at the city park. Our nominee for Leohono Carnival Queen was Betty Lou James. The following term our Sophomore year, the outstanding additions to our edu- cation had been that we should keep off the grass and avoid tracking on the gym floor. We gave our first Monticola fund dance in September, 1942, for the pur- pose of collecting money to be used in our senior year for the publication of our annual. The officers that year were: Bob Congdon, Presidentg Ruth Pearce, Vice- presidentg Julie Zahlan, Secretary-treasurer. There were seven from our class who joined the Leohono Society. Then we were upperclassmen, the honor we heard about since we started high school. We gave a Junior Play, nNot Quite Such a Goosen. The cast for this play wasi Beverly Mac Donald, Betty Lou James, Elinor Clayton, Bob May, and P a u l Loman 0 4 ' At the Girls League King and Queen dance, Betty Palmer received the honor of Queen and Dale Bceck, King. U Our Junior Prom went over with a big success. The decorations were in har- mony with the theme of Spring. I We re-elected Bob Congdon as president, Jim Nelson, Vice-presidentg and Marion Lodge, Secretary-treasurer. At last we're seniors, the year we've all dreamed about. Our officers for this year are: Julie Zaklan, President, Ray Hadley, Vice-presidentg and Mary Hadley, Secretary-treasurer. Instead of frightening the frosh with initiation, we welcomed them with a very successful party. we gave an assembly to get the freshmen acquainted with the student body. ' Seniors are active everywhere in the school, in clubs and crginizations, in music, in athletics and in anyway they can be helpful to the student body. We wanted to boast our Mbnticola fund so we gave an all school mixer in the falls Our advisors throughihe four high school years, who have been very helpful, Are: Mr. Dodds, Miss Spoor, and Mrs. Nash. Seven boys from our class received basketball letter awards and seventeen joined the Leohcno Society. We've gone this far and we'll gc farther in this war-torn world. Some of us will go onto battle fronts, some in college or in a profession, but whereever we go, we will have success.
