Alternates to Boys' State were Robert Bower, Dave Brubeck, Gerald Bryan, Dave Goens, Ross Jameson, Steve Linville, Lanny Messersmith, Bill Muel- ler, Gary Murphy, Charles Needham, and jim Rezzelman. e even junior boys and eight junior Elected to attend Girls' Phillips, Walter Tobias. and Boys' State were -Ierilyn Bow en, Sharon Clevenger, Also attending Boys' State were Vincen t Maziotti, Tom Gill, Ben Thirty-eight junior boys and girls were picked by their classmates to attend mythical Boys' and Girls' States. Half of the thirty-eight were chos- en by the Faculty Advisory Committee to be delegates. The other nineteen were to act as al- ternates. Boys' State, sponsored by the American Le- gion, was held at Roswell's New Mexico Mili- tary Institute, june 2, and Girls' State, spon- sored by the American Legion Auxiliary, was held on the University of New Mexico campus, June 14.
