Half of the thirty-eight were chos- en by the Faculty Advisory Committee to be delegates. The other nineteen were to act as al- ternates. Boys' State, sponsored by the American Le- gion, was held at Roswell's New Mexico Mili- tary Institute, june 2, and Girls' State, spon- sored by the American Legion Auxiliary, was held on the University of New Mexico campus, June 14.
