wirp week activities, feb. 8-13 TWIRP King and the two Knights were announced at the TWIRP assembly Friday. Students watched with mounting excitement as Homecoming Queen Judy Campbell slowly walked to the waiting boys and placed the crown on Mike Reeds head. Princesses Linda Bartek and Penny Sojka crowned Ron Locher and Albino Martinez as the Knights. Then while Mike, Ron, and Al- bino looked on, Pam Davis and Ray Davis emceed skits and musical entertainment. Student Body Council sponsored the Spinsters' Spree Saturday night to raise money for next year's foreign exchange student. Girls sup- plied transportation, picked up the boys at their homes, opened doors, paid the admission fee to the dance and bought refreshments after- ward. A capacity crowd danced to the music of Mike Baca and his band. Couples at the dance paid a quarter to git hitched at one of the three marriage booths also sponsored by SBC. Fake rings and mar- riage licenses were presented at the assembly-line ceremonies. Princess Linda Bartek crowns Ron Locher as one of the two Knights for TXVIRP XY'eek. Varsity cheerleaders mix a magic potion to discover the name of the TNWIRP King. Activities for TVUIRP XY!eek began with an assembly to announce the TWIRP King can- didates. Boys nominated were Bob Sabino, Da- vid Goens, Mike Reed, Gary Cosper, Albino Martinez, Ron Locher, Roger Anderson, Jim Wfienczkowski, Marvin Byrd, Bob Stevens, Don Abbott, jay Harshe, Tommy Gill, Micky Kaer and Sammy Sampson. School activities were planned for each night of the week, with the Spinsters' Spree climaxing the week. A school play, Night of january 16th, was playing the first part of the week, Feb. 9-11. A wrestling match and two basketball games were also activities of TWIRP Week.
