Taking ap- proximately a year to build, Sandia opened its doors in 1958 with 1800 students. Already the second largest school in the state, Sandia expects 600 more students next year. Although under great disadvantages, typical of the opening of any large school, Sandia Produced many outstanding students, academically and activity-wise. Dry, barren wasteland.
