HPIRIIWJI Amid the bright glitter of footlights and the mad scurrying between scenes, members of Las Candilejas, the dramatic club, gained much valuable background in the thespian arts. Las Candilejas was formed to give each member an opportunity to enter all phases of play production. To accomplish this purpose, three one-act plays, THE POT BOILER, HAPPY JOURNEY and PRIVATE EYE, were presented Dec. 4-5. As the Crest went to press, future productions were being planned. Al- though the athletes didn't organize the club until the second semester, members sponsored several activities. Included were: cleaning the gym before games, operating a concession stand at games, and setting up the bleachers for the games. A 1etterman's picnic was also being planned for the end of the year. Artistic was the word for many of the posters which members of Los Pintores made and put up to adorn Sand.ia's halls. Los Pintores was formed to stimulate an interest in art for those who did not take it as a course, and to develop the ability of those who did. Members financed their activities bv the sale of label pins, Christmas cards and Christmas corsages. Several field trips were taken during the year.
