The Albuquerque Youth Council has a six-fold program to foster co-operation in all schools. The purposes are: to create mutual understanding between all schoolsg to interest youth in affiliated groups, to build leadership in the youth of today, the adults of tomorrowg to serve the com- munity and undertake city projectsg to provide opportunities for youth to have a voice in the civic government, and to as- sist member organizations in carrying out major projects. Each high school sends four delegates: two seniors, one junior, and one sophomore. .W -ik-3519391 tfdltfflffll .MIK-.'5' Pkdfilfiff An inter-city council, covering Albuquer- que and patterned after a regular student council, is functioning as a recommending body. Its main purpose is to make recom- mendations concerning problems facing the city's public high schools as a whole, andito help co-ordinate activities that are common to all schools. Members of the council include the Student Council president, the head cheer- leader, a junior, and a sophomore from each city high school. Classified as jacks - of - all - trades, the girls physicial education office assistants had many unusual tasks to fulfill. Among these jobs were: in- ventoring equip- ment, keeping a file of lock com- binations and do- ing ordinary office routine such as running errands, answering tele- phones and taking messages. 6?ff76'f 6 RI! The Office Girls' Club worked towards the goal of encouraging girls to enter the business profession. The girls were guests of Rio Grande High and observed how those offices were run, Also a field trip was taken to the Public Service Com- pany.
