AEM fi 649475-BK .. A hectic phase ceases as the final pages of this yearbook are finished. Satisfied sighs fill the air as cries of it's done and all throught' are heard. Staff members feel rewarding self-satisfaction as peace and quiet settle climatically. Without the cooperation of many people, our year- book would have been incomplete. Our first round of thanks goes to our sponsor, Miss Boughton. Being our friend, helper and critic, Miss Boughton put in overtime again and again. Words can't express the appreciation we feel for her and the work she does. Any annual would be incomplete without pictures. To the ever-ready, patient and understanding studio, Rose-Rembrandt, goes a large round of applause. Put- ting up with harrassed staff members, the studio assistants came through, never letting us down. Al- so contributing pictures were the Albuquerque Jour- nal and Redman Photo Studio. To the students, faculty and administration of Sandia goes our heartiest gratitude for their cooper- ation, understanding and helpfulness. Club sponsors, officers and members are to be praised for using their time and energy working with and for the annual. The Administrative Council is to be acknowledged for the time and work they put in on the Crest and the special section, Who's Who. Copy and headlines play a large role in the Sandia Crest. Taking time out from his busy schedule, Roy Hall found time to help write the copy for the sports section. Thank you, Roy. Rewriting and rewriting was necessary in many places of the annual. Mfiss Strand, chairman of the English department, proved to be a very helpful advisor. Were grateful, Miss Strand. Club editor, Nancy Steinkraus, has done duty a- bove and beyond her assignment. To her goes an extra-big pat on the back. Assistant editors, Nancy Cunningham, Frieda Rogers, and jackie Stansell de- serves credit for being always handy. Sometimes stuck with the dirty,' work these three lassies really deserve a special thanks julie Wiesen did a trem- endous job in putting together the almost endless sophomore pictures. With a measuring stick in hand, Kathy White did a great job in m.aking the junior pictures fit together The responsibility of putting to- gether the senior pages was placed on Rhonda Wer- ner. She did a fine job on the Class of '59, Sports editor Greg Cohen found he was an iso- lated male in a group of schoming, devilish fe- males. Greg deserves a lot of credit for succeeding in getting his pages out. Many problems arise when dealing with faculty and administration pages. Betty Milhollin and Helen Wilcox' are to be patted on the back for a job well done. Seniors, if you are wondering how the annual staff obtained that charming baby picture of you, you can thank either Maureen Epson or Betty jarvies who worked endlessly obtaining and keeping these pictures. And to the other members of the staff, Mary Sheets, Beverly Richards, Carole Blazick, Charlotte Thompson, Mona Luker, Nickie Dominguez, jimmy Lucero, Bill Edelman and Pat Carbone go heartiest thanks. To the entire Crest staff go endless words of ap- preciation, thankfulness and gratitude for the hours of work that have been poured into this first Sandia Crest. We sincerely hope that you will remember, and enjoy the '59 Crest. Sincerely, Barbara Fawver, Editor
