Hosmer GREETINGS OF THE 1970 GRADUATES OF SANDHILLS COMMUNITY COLLEGE When you came to Sandhills you brought something new to the campus — yourself. You quickly became a vital part of the Sandhills stream — students, faculty, books, laboratories, and shops. The stream of learning flowed through courses, bull sessions, student government, study, work, and a variety of activi¬ ties. All were to prepare you for your next stop downstream toward maturity. During your stay at Sandhills, the College became a part of you and you, a portion of it. Not so much through something spectacular as through daily experience, you left your imprint upon us and we upon you. Our hope is that you will always be a source of pride to Sandhills,.and that your devotion to the College will cause you to return even as your desire for learning led you to Sandhills for the first time. May your life be full of meaning and purpose for you. Raymond A. Stone President 14 Dr. Raymond A. Stone, President Sandhills Community College (SEATED) Dr. Raymond Stone, President of S.C.C.; Dr. I. All anyone has is hope of a life filled with achievements and the joy of contributing to others. In striving to be a better person, hopes often fade a little; during these times each one of us feels the need of someone to show.us the right thing to do. Feeling the need for help, seek advice from others; Then apply it to please your own conscience. Going into life on your own, strive to satisfy yourself — and others as best you can. If you succeed then a single life will be a blessing to those who sincerely get to know you. — Larry C. Wilson 4 %. Here it is gang! This book represents a large amount of hard work, many hours, and even some tears. Thanks to ail of those people who are not mentioned among the staff, but who contributed their time to the book. A big thank you also to the shoulders I cried on. — Mr. Moore ' s, Mrs. Apple ' s, Mr. Hatcher ' s, Mrs. Mc- Phaul ' s, and Mrs. Rogan ' s. Last, but certainly not least, thanks to the person who most kept my broken spirit bandaged — my roommate, Mary. We, of the SANDHILLS ' 70 staff, hope the yearbook meets your expectations. If you have questions about why it was done a certain way, just ask — there is a reason. Finally, I think I can say for the entire staff, we enjoyed bringing you this copy of SANDHILLS ' 70.
