John Hastie, along with passing the bar examination and being Ambassador to Girls State was campaign manager for the winning candidate for governor of Boys' State. Ed Buchner passed the bar exam also and was elected senator from his district. Harold Paden was the adjutant general and head of the platform ' committee. He also was a candidate for the gubernatorial office but unfortunately lost. Sand Springs was equally well-represented at Girls State. Mary Metzger was state voting delegate and Phyllis Willis was mayor of Johnson City. fBoys and Girls State are S GIRLS' STATE divided into counties and citiesj.
