LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT We the Senior Class of 1953, being of sound mind and seventy-eight in body, being well leamed in the three R's and supposedly prepared for the brutalness of the future, do hereby ordain and establish this, our last will and testament. First, to the class of '54 we leave all the thrills, honors and special privileges of being a senior. Second: To the faculty we leave our special thanks and gratitude for all the help and understanding they have given us during our school years. Third: To Mr. Marr, whom we all admire for his patience and understanding of the students, we leave our sincere appreciation. Fourth: The following persons wish to leave a few personal things. 1. I, Ruth Crawford, bequeath my ability to keep the library to Charles Robinson. 2. I, Peggy King, bequeath my ability to get out of Mrs. Andrew's class early for lunch to Ruth Warren and Doris Parker. 3. I, Betty Looney, bequeath my quietness to Beverly Brooks. 4. I, Barbara Early, bequeath to Myrtle Cooke my superlative, Best All Round Girl. 5. I, Annette Creasman, bequeath my Toni home pemmnent to Jim Brookshire, hoping he will be able to use it. 6. I, Pat Brown, bequeath my ability to yell in the library when I'm not supposed to, to Howard Goforth who usually does anyway. 7. I, Shirley Stames, bequeath to Gloria my ability to go with Mars Hill boys. Good luck, Gloria!!! 8. I, Joyce Keller, bequeath to Mrs. Fortner a promise that I will be glad to relieve her in about five years. 9. I, Barbara Wilson, bequeath what ability I have to play basketball to Ann Crook. 10. I, Paul Jean Lowery, bequeath my ability to sing to Bobbie Jane. Good luck, Bobbie!!! 11. I, Mary Elaine Banks, bequeath all my used toys to Edith Ray Hawkins' and Charles Blankenship's children. 12. I, Frances Gosselin, bequeath my ability to drive and to get along with Lee Edwards' boys to Bobbie Jane Murray. 13. I, Martha Jean Trull, bequeath my ability to ride in Fords to Patsy Evans. Stick with them, Pat!!! 14. I, Joy Alexander, bequeath my abilit to say and do the craziest things to any junior who is smart enough to take it. 15. We, Jo Lena Willis and Regenia Wilkie, be- queath our ability to leave school when we please to Jimmy Rogers. Be careful, Jimmy!!! 16. I, Bill Clark, bequeath my typing book to Ned Kirby. 17. I, Carole Jones, bequeath my ability to read so many books to Suzie Carmichael. 18. I, Virginia Nave, bequeath my pony tail to Elsie Griffin. 19. I, Shirley Crook, bequeath my ability to play basketball to Shirley Merrill. 20. I, Ruth Field, bequeath my ability to have and to hold to Marian and Rosa Lee. 21. I, Mary Alice Connor, bequeath my ability of knowing how to get in and out of trouble to my sister, Betty Jean, and to Janette Roberson. 22. I, Joe Young, bequeath my friends to Rex Davis and my residency of the student council to Mary Ellen Guclger. ' 23. I, Larry Revels, bequeath in its entirety my bountiful knowledge of women to Julian Brown. Bless his soul!!! 24. I, Julia Carlock, bequeath my ability to get into trouble to Roma Dixon. You really won't need it, will you Roma? 25. I, Juanita Webster, bequeath my ability to get into Scroll to Gloria Stuman. 26. I, Dorothy Mae Smith, bequeath my ability to draw to Bennie Fortune. 27. I, Dee Hughey, bequeath my acting ability to Roma Dixon and my ability to get out of classes to Shelby Victor Moody. 28. I, Norma Brown, bequeath my ability to do some- thing and get by with it to Ruby Foster. 29. I, Barbara Patterson, bequeath my privilege of leaving school at eleven o'clock to Albert Morgan. 30. I, Jack Lindseif, bequeath my place at center to Kenneth Holland an my place in Latin class to Red Allison. 31. I, Ed Brinkley, bequeath my English literature book and a box of aspirin to G. D. Smith. 32. I, Carroll Cagle, bequeath Gloria to all the under- class girls, expecting them to keep her away from the boys next year. Don't let me down, girls! 33. I, Joan Westall, bequeath my ability to sing alto to Gloria Stuman. 34. I, Bob Arrington, bequeath my ability to lay out of class and get by with it to Ralph Buckner. 35. We, Peggy Goode, Nancy Cochrane, Julia Car- lock, and Dee Hughey, bequeath the high standards and ideals upon which the B.W.'s are based to Roma Dixon, Shelby Moody, Shirley Merrill, Mavis Nesbitt, and Janice Melton, hoping they will continue to keep them up next year. 36. I, Ralph Brooks, bequeath my ability to play the piano to Ronnie Dalton. 37. I, Jack Lovingood, bequeath my ability to play basketball to Rose McGee. 38. I, Don McElrath, bequeath my English ability to G. D. Smith. 39. I, Polly Christopher, bequeath my ability to write love notes to Chet Griffin in history class, without getting caught, to Pat Horton and Jim Brookshire. 40. I, Peggy Ann Goode, bequeath to Jimmy Lee Brookshire and Rex Davis all the drags we have checked and all the fun we had while doing so. To Shirley Mer- rill I leave my place in the Scroll Society and the Y.A.C. Club. 41. I, Chet Griffin, bequeath my ability to get bawled out to G. D. Smith. 42. I, Wynelle Ford, bequeath my love for dramatics and my fun at play practice to June Buckner. 43. I, Calvin Davis, bequeath the hate of lending my car to Wayne Woodberry. 44. I, George Mehaffey, bequeath my ability to get the highest grades in advanced math to Dick Davis. 45. I, Ken Sherrill, bequeath my ability to get zero's in shop to William McDade. 46. I, Nancy Cochrane, bequeath to Dick Davis all the good times we have had, plus the fusses and to Mavis I leave my strong right arm to help her keep her boyfriends in line. Keep slugging gal!!! 47. I, Bill Coffey, bertleath my ability to get ex- cused from school to Jac Morgan. 48. I, Bobbie McKinnish, bequeath my senior su- perlative, Most Likely to Succeed, to Claudine Bryant.
