VALEIIICTURY Parents, Ieaohers, le bers of the School Board and Friends 3 We have come tonight to the Commencement of our lives, not the end of them We have had enjoyable and important times but we will have more We all enjoyed our high school careers, but we wouldn't always want to be high school students We have come to say Farewell tonight to the school, the teachers and our friends We hate to say it to the friends we have known all through our school lives We will meet new friends as we cont inue on our way There is one Friend that we each can know who is truer than any other In times of trouble He will still stick with us He will never fail us if we trust in Him Christ can be a real Friend He rejoices in your happiness and comforts you in your sorrow Tonight we do not know what lies ahead of us, we do not know whether it will be joy or care We must trust our future to the hand of God We should fight for truth and uphold the right When we search out the plan that God makes for each of us, we can To the Teachers we say 'good bye' with sincere regret W have often been idle and headless, we have failed to meet the re quirements but the lessons you have taught have not been sown on barren ground, in time to come, your work will still bear fruit Promises are just so many efforts with us We thank you and shall keep hapoy memories of our days in your classrooms Great men and great opportunities are rare We may never reach fame and unusual achievement but let us do nobly some work for the sake of humanity Let us remember that education should fit us not only for success in our chosen work it should also make us more useful citizens Let us treasure the memory of these happy years and be true to the best teachings they have given us, with ever a warm spot in our hearts for the memories at this, the beloved Class of 1948 Then here's a smile for the future, And for our parting, a sigh Here's a God speed and bon voyage, And to all a fond goodbye lar? Inu Rathbun know our lives will be great and true. - . e
