O CUOOIOC VALEIIICTURY Parents, Ieaohers, le bers of the School Board and Friends 3 We have come tonight to the Commencement of our lives, not the end of them We have had enjoyable and important times but we will have more We all enjoyed our high school careers, but we wouldn't always want to be high school students We have come to say Farewell tonight to the school, the teachers and our friends We hate to say it to the friends we have known all through our school lives We will meet new friends as we cont inue on our way There is one Friend that we each can know who is truer than any other In times of trouble He will still stick with us He will never fail us if we trust in Him Christ can be a real Friend He rejoices in your happiness and comforts you in your sorrow Tonight we do not know what lies ahead of us, we do not know whether it will be joy or care We must trust our future to the hand of God We should fight for truth and uphold the right When we search out the plan that God makes for each of us, we can To the Teachers we say 'good bye' with sincere regret W have often been idle and headless, we have failed to meet the re quirements but the lessons you have taught have not been sown on barren ground, in time to come, your work will still bear fruit Promises are just so many efforts with us We thank you and shall keep hapoy memories of our days in your classrooms Great men and great opportunities are rare We may never reach fame and unusual achievement but let us do nobly some work for the sake of humanity Let us remember that education should fit us not only for success in our chosen work it should also make us more useful citizens Let us treasure the memory of these happy years and be true to the best teachings they have given us, with ever a warm spot in our hearts for the memories at this, the beloved Class of 1948 Then here's a smile for the future, And for our parting, a sigh Here's a God speed and bon voyage, And to all a fond goodbye lar? L s- O S O l HARVESTER LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT State of Michigan County of Lenawee Town of Sand Creek We, the undignified class of nineteen hundred and forty eight of Sand Creek nigh School, aforesaid state, county and town, being of questionable state of mind, and sound body, do hereby make and proclaim our Last Will and Testament We having passedfjust barelylthis stage of our education hope to dispost of our assets, rights and privileges Cif any in the following way: ARTICLE I Section l To the faculty we leave an abundance of apprec lation for having lingered with us during our High School career We also leave to them and to our parents sighs of re lief to be used after we have received our diplomas ARTICLE II Section 1 To the incoming class of Seniors we bequeath our privileges Cif you can find some I Our right to a Senior Play and the Banquet given by the Juniors, also the Harvester to be published in the senior year Section 2 To the Sophomores we bequeath the art of going to class with out our lessons done lif you can get away with privileges of Sophomores, namely to initiate the Freshmen We also leave the privilege of chewing gum in school without get ting caught ARTICLE III Section l To the school as a whole we leave our beauti ful class picture to be hung in the hall to warn all bad child ren so they will be good We also leave the Siren to be pub lished every month We also leave a good g1r1's basketball team, and a boys team that is a team Any other Will or Testament made by us is declared null and void upon this publication In witness thereof we, the Senior Class, do set our hand and seal to this Will on the Dramatic twenty fifth of May, one thousand nine hundred and forty eight SENIOR CLASS itl. There are twenty-two Juniors this year. We are beginning plans for the Junior and Senior Banquet which 1111 be in April. The Junior Play was given February 20, 1948 on Friday evening. The title of the play was 'Clearing Skies.'
