To San Pedro ! ! and why not? Who has a bigger, better Jack O' Lan- terns? Each October, Union Oil assigns two men to paint one of their tanks nearest the Gaffey Street entrance to San Pedro. It takes two weeks for these men to cover this gigantic pump- kin with brilliant orange paint. Black and white intensifies his broad grin. Through-traffic on Anaheim and High- way lO'l pass before his smile, even though they by-pass our peninsula. Members of the Annual Staff who ar- ranged for this picture were impressed by the many precautions to ensure complete safety. They had to get spe- cial permission, and an executive to escort the group through the gates, up the road into the tank farm. Here not even the Strobe light could be used. Ordinary flash attachments were not allowed inside the gate. Who DOES have a bigger, better Jack O' Lantern?
