Service Groups Student Court Our school is tortunate in having several groups who devote their time and energy to the service ot the school and students ot the school. The student service, ushers, student council, and student court are a tew ot these organizations. i The STUDENT COURT acts as a superior court to study cases ot misconduct atter they have been passed on by the Knights and Knightettes. They discuss the cases and decide a tair punishment tor the particular crime , Eight members, chosen trom the senior classes, constitute the court. Five only serve at a time, the other three acting as alternates. Mr. Johnson sponsors the group. The USHERS are another service group, smaller and more exclusive than the student service in that there are only two boys and two girls elected trom each class. These students usher at all student body tunctions. They have recently inaugurated white sweaters in order that they may be distinguished trom others at student body tunctions. Mr. Andries sponsors this group. Membership in the STUDENT SERVICE organization is open to any student interested. Their duties talce place at lunch time when they check bounds permits and lceep halls clear. Every year the student service plans a party tor members and their guests at which time the two students consideied most etticient in halls and the two most ettective on bounds duty are presented student service pins. Many students who have received these pins have later become Knights and Knightettes. The sponsor is Mr. Johnson and the presidents, one girl and one boy, are elected at the general student body elections. The STUDENT COUNCIL, a much larger group than the picture indicates, is composed ot two mem- bers, one boy and one girl, elected trom each second period class. They are the intermediate group between the student executive board and the school as a unit. They meet once a month in the auditorium and the next day bring to the classroom the ideas discussed at their meeting tor the reaction ot the students. ln this way student ideas may be heard and tuture activities are dis- cussed. Mr. Johnson sponsors this group.
