1 m... e v I fa if HW at .1 . tif Freshmen Hit High Note his year the freshmen took over the SPHS chorus. They are young and experienced in the singing world. Out of a class of seven- teen, there were ten. Most of them have won awards, havefuture plans that per- tain to music, take lessons, and have successfully been in plays and concerts. Nicole Fisher, Hanna Silk, Renae Loftin, Maribel Garcia, Afdina Ondai, and A appeared in some special productions. When Carousel came out, Nicole had two solos in it. Renae sang at a concert. Hanna made her debut in Her's Love, Cinderella, Wizard of Oz, and had duets in the Spring Festival. Both singing and in plays, Maribel was in Oliver and in the church choir for five years. Adina was in Broadway Review. The city plays Snow White, and Pinocchio broadcast- ed Beth. She also has done church so- los. Their singing has reasons behind it. Some say it is to express yourself. Oth- ers think it is a way to relieve stress. Naturally, they have idols. Whitney Houston, Julie Andrews, and Barbara Streisand have come in their minds. Who knows? Maybe one of them will be an idol just like these people. Girl's Chorus CL to Rl: Bottom row: Marybelle Garcia Tara Lutong Shelly Hensley: Nicole Fisher, and Julie Larson.
