Keeping The Spirit live pirit week this year was held the week before Halloween. Throughout the week, a specific day was represented by a costume. On Monday, it was Toga Day. The students wrapped a sheet around themselves and safety pinned it. They hoped that the wind would not pick up. We wondered if the ancient Greeks ever wore cartoon sheets. Tuesday was Hawaiian Day. lf you noticed, everybody wore sunglasses because the colors clashed so badly. Nerd Day was Wednesday. The night before, everybody raided their parent's closets. San Pasqual became a polyester palace that day. They looked like golfers from Rancho Bernardo. Hal- loween costumes were worn on Thurs- day. This year popular costumes were: clowns, the entire water polo team in- cluding their coach, a Ronald Reagan, ninjas, Rambo-ettes, Tweedle-dee and Tweedle-dum, and French maids that tried to show it all. Friday was blue and gold day. The students were supposed to be spirited, but it was actually a chance to wear uneoordinated clothes, just like all the other days in Spirit Week. ll A Linda Wanders, .leanine Thomas, Nicole Rothey, .lerry Morris, Donn Alexander, Thad Hamilton, and .lon Busch have a nerd party B. 9 Lets Do Lunch aven't you noticed that lunch rhymes with munch, bunch, and punch? Munch: Lunch means eat, and eating sounds like munch. People in fourth pe- riod just wait to get out and chow down, or they secretly hide food from the teacher and eat it all by the end of the period, which is quite effective if you know how. Then, during lunch, they can talk to all of their friends instead of wasting time eating. Bunch: At lunch, there is never any- body eating alone. This bunch of people talk and eat, sometimes at the same time. Punch: It always happens, trashcanning of a freshman or a fight. Punching is usually involved, but, some adult breaks it up before it gets violent. Munch, bunch, punch: lunch!
