- arsit Baseball's Mac Attack he key players on this year's var- sity baseball team were juniors s . , Mike Escarsega, - , and seniors Keith Nicols, an They helped bring the good defense and consistent batting that made the team strong. Some of their main opponents were San Marcos, Escondido, and Carlsbad. About his coaching Philos- ophy, Coach McAllister said, I want our baseball players to enjoy their ex- periences here, but that enjoyment and success is only a result of their sacri- fices and their self-discipline. He wanted the players to understand that their hard work and dedication was the only way to realize goals they set for themselves. Varsity Baseballg QL. to RJ Front row: M. Escarsega, A. Seda, L. - . . aseball Moves his year's J.V. baseball was a sight to see. Led by Coach Allured, the sea- son ended in much success. Some extremely exciting games were played against San Marcos, and against their long- time rivals of Escondido High. The top cali- ber teams that played in our Easter Invita- tional Tournament made for excitement un- matched by other tournaments. Along with baseball skilslskills, Coach Allured tried to instill a sense of responsibility along with academic growth in his players. There were many players who looked promising. Every- one on the team had a special contribution to the overall success of the team. Although they started out a little rough around the edges, they gradually flowed into a smooth running, top quality team with a great sea- son! A. J.V. player prepares for the next batter. B.
