Varsity And JV Boys Make A Splash his year's Boys Varsity Swimming had a fairly good balance between new and re- turning competitors. However, there were more members of the team that did not quite have as much experience. The Team's coach, Mr. Sad- nick, has been coaching for many years. He said this year's team had more room for growth and he expected them to do very well in the Avocado League Championships. Among the established swimmers and key helpers is Todd Pitner,- H ' , , . ' Y and James Young. Out of all the teams this season, Mr. Sad- nick said Carlsbad was their thoughest competi- tion. Our J.V. Boys Swimming team was well pre- pared to oppose many other schools in the conflict for the C.I.F. championships. Striving to better themselves, the team worked day after day on drill after drill. Some of their main opponents were San Marcos, Escondido, and Carlsbad. About his coaching Philos- ophy, Coach McAllister said, I want our baseball players to enjoy their ex- periences here, but that enjoyment and success is only a result of their sacri- fices and their self-discipline.
