Their season got off to a great start with an exciting meet against Escon- dido. Coach Wester's motto was Be the best you can ben and that's just what they did. After many hours of strenous effort and practice they were ready for ev- erything and anything. Returning from last year for varsity, were some outstanding ath- letes such as: Lisa Ciuffitelli, Alysa Vander- zanden, Christina Broome, Dawn Schaetzke, and . .I.V. had the returning talent of , Jayce Jackson, and Andrea Frank. Varsity was headed by their seasoned coach, Laura Hadfield while J.V. was presided over by new coach, Laura Noonan. Considering the fact that gymnastics lost several good participants from last year, they were still a very united team. Also the number of new people on both Varsity and J.V. brought a renewed sense of competition and determination. A. Tanya Cardwell concentrates on her form.
