They had several difficult games against Vista and San Marcos which led to over- times. The JV team this year has in my opinion FANTASTIC! I had a team of talented young ladies, which is more than any coach could ever ask for. I was very fortunate in my first year of coaching. I am very proud, says coach Becky Davert. 132 Varsity Field Hockey I l Field Hockey his was a unique season for the girls Varsity Field Hockey team. They had a chance to see hard work and determination take them to the CIF playoffs. This team stars the strongest team since the glory days of Ann Maier and her Ladies on the early 80's. We had speed strength and most of all talent in every position. Most no- tably Kim Thomas, FmTre'Riffle, and Qeaninv-Thomas were outstanding on the offensive line while Sandy Shi- mooka and Sandy Fu made life miser- able for the opposition in the mid-field. Further more Suzy Kroesche, Gayle Carpenter, and Cece Boehme contained on the defense. And a special thanks to Joann Reynolds for keeping the goal cage for us. She was almost impossible to score on, if she had a shot at the ball it wasn't going in the cage. 6'Thank you ladies in the blue and gold, I will miss you, but I will never forget you. Although it was a young one, this year's B-ball team was one of the best SP has seen in years. They won many games, also losing quite a few by only a basket or two, including an agonizing one-point loss to Ramona that was pushed into double-overtime by three-point swishes by sophomore Eylllll and junior Jim Clayton. Paced by freshman 'Exfikekhc-lc, the top scorer, the team also received high scores from junior and some crafty moves from senior Artie Rodriguez.
