In spite of several injuries and illnesses, they came in first place with a 14-O record. This was quite an achievement considering that half of the team had little, if any, previous ten- nis experience before tryouts. There were only four returning players this year, each of whom contributed some- thing special to the team. Nina Kim, the team captain, helped to organize them. Denise Johnson helped to moti- vate her teammates. Kristen Seiffert helped keep them in line while Monica Bautista kept them from getting too se- rious. The Co-MVP's were Nina Kim and Monica Bautista. This year Most Improved went to A-!nTET'fei S'tehiy. A. Monica Bautista serves the ball. B, Lisa Smith lets go. B T T J.V. Girl's Tennis 127
