.S.B.- This year's A.S.B., under the guidance of Mrs. Marcus, learned the importance of as- suming responsibility and leadership. Under the Eagles' mighty wings, A S B took the responsibilit for pep rallies, assemblies, dances, fund raisers, music at l h ' ' unc , One of the biggest and most noteable jobs A.S.B. took on this year was the fund raisin effort f g or Duanne Wall. Duanne is a 28 year old man with a severe heart condition that is fatal. In January of 1988, Duanne took time out and came and spoke to the students of S.P.H.S., and at that time A.S.B. an- nounced our plan for the fund raising needed for D ' ' uanne s operation fsome S70,000.00J. A.S.B. was re- sponsible for putting up banners and posters along with dona ' ' tion cans, all over Escondido. Jon arentffutor Club-This group consisted of fine, intelligent, hard working students who gave their time and efforts to other students in the subjects they excelled in. These student tutors were paid by the school every hour. Missy DeTenley was the organizer who put together these student tutors. Students would usually study with their tutors in the library for up to one hour sessions, two or three times a week depending on how much help a fellow student needed. With the help of many of these stu- dent tutors many of us students got through what we could of never gotten through alone. Tutors: ure tLtoRl Ellen Chinchillas, Christina Lindslcy, Gina Pino. Jean Young, Todd Lushcr, Ling Lee. and April Faucher. are Crew- Caring and helping their peers were the main purposes of this year's Care Crew supervised by Jan Boedecker. Under the lead- ership of Pres. Paul Spice they spoke at junior high schools, Unisys, and this year started the peer counsel- ing group. This is a group of chosen students who have dedicated their time and advice to other fellow students who may have problems orjust need to talk to someone they feel more comfortable with. A creative fundraiser was the Pledge Bars , these were chocolate bars with a pledge Say No to Drugs . By buying one of these bars you were to make this pledge. A lot of time and love was put in by all students to form a group that Dared to Care . are CLtoRJ Bottom Row: Sandra lfu. Suzy Kroesche, xdson, and h: Middle Row: Ms, Bocdcckcr.
