Christmas parties with foreign dishes and caroling, cultural days, scavenger hunts and triv- ia days were some of the fun items that were rewarding for all the cramming and exams. The main thing students re- member was that classes were just like math. The less he or she understands the more lost he or she becomes, the teacher will always be there to help. l A- Senora Mojica is helping a student with a new Spanish assignment. New classes developed, for example the second semester civics course was indulged in pure economics, and the new world cultures course tied geography and world history to- gether. Students in the social stud- ies developed a number of things, one of them including the ability to analyze certain situations and oc- curences. Also, students gathered a historical perspective, the under- standing of politics, and an aware- ness of what was going on in the world around them. By following 92 Academics qualms!! I 48 I r Y if Ms., ' 46 B the social studies curriculum, the types of fields were fairly open. These fields included the following: economics, teaching, law enforce- ment, lawyer, interests in govern- ment and politics, communications and radio and television, social work, and mental health. Mr. Pusker mentioned that the class of '88 had slightly changed in that they had better skills, abilities, and a more successful attitude. He also feels that the Social Science de- partment should be a leading study because of its political adaption and its broader focus on the major bearings of life.
