JV Boys' Baseball Steps Up To Bat The 1984-85 JV Baseball team under Coach McAllister came in second, only to Carlsbad High, in the Avacado league. The 1985-86 team under Coach Allured hoped to do as well, if not better. Coach Allured in his sixth year of coaching baseball saw a lot of potential in the kids trying out. He found it hard to make two cuts of six or seven guys. The coach thought the toughest competitor of the season would be Orange Glen. He be- lieves that discipline, support from the school and the player's families, lots of hour s practice, and understanding on his part are all things that it takes to make a good team Coach Allured s goal for the 85 86 season was to Make each player the best that HE can be A Tag' You re it' B How many strikes until you re out? He said that in his six years of coach- ing, this was the best over all group trying out. Coach Vasquez likes coaching baseball because he Likes being with the kids . He says that dedication, hard work, mental disci- pline, and fun on the kids and the coach's parts as well are what make an excellent team.
