Coach Moyneur has been coaching the boy's freshman Basketball team for two years as well as junior varsity and varsity football. This season was packed with excitement. They won seven games in a row 2 and defeated Mt. Carmel and Oceanside to get to the Mt. Car- mel Tournament. There, they won the Consolation Cham- 43-42. Coach Moyneur com- bined fun and discipline to get his team to put forth it's maxi- mum effort. He got players to believe in themselves and have enthusiasm. With a full court press and team hustle as strong points, our freshmen Basket- ball team got one of the best, if not the best, records in SPHS's history. First year Coach Buck had his hands full with the Junior Varsity Boy's Bas- ketball team. Although team members came from last year's freshman team, they tried to improve after a rocky start at the season's open. Basically, we've had to crack down on the fundamen tals, said Coach Buck, They practiced shooting and passing and really tried hard and worked out. Some of the in cessant drills paid off, like the 16 point victory over Vahalla and beating Oceanside by one. Sophomore Gilbert Toscano led most of the scores and re bounds during the season. It was one of trials errors battles won and wars lost Through it, members learned how to be a team and survive proudly against the odds. W ' C
