Frosh Eagles Stride High Frosh Boys SP 15 Fallbrook 44 15 Ramona 50 15 Carlsbad 50 15 Escondido 50 19 El Camino 33 17 44 21 40 Oceanside San Marcos There's a freshman boy's Cross Country team that went undefeated all season. Yes, although there were not enough girls to rally for a girl's team, these Golden eaglets upheld San Pasqual's reputation for the top runners. One highlight occurred when our freshman team won top honors at the 1985 Mt. San Antonio College fMt. SACD Invitational. As expected they went on to capture the league title. Commendable team- work and mutual support always the hallmark of these teams held them together on the course. With some gentle persuasion and a lot of encour- agement from Coach Wester Coach Panno and Coach Buck leading run- ners such as Brian Brady Brad Per- ry and Mitchell Jarvis finished very well. Freshmen Francis O Neil and Bradly Trejillo started in the fresh- man team but moved quickly into the Varsity spotlight. The team is a stepping-stone and members are soon to be the main-stays for our Ju- nior Varsity and Varsity teams. Said Coach Wester Their dedication and unity pulled them through every time. Excitement builds. The crowd is tense, for SPHS Leonard Rodriguez in being allowed a free throw. An intake of breaths as the ball sails in an arc and swishes through the hoop. We've won, with a mere two seconds left in the game. There will be many memories for the varsity boy's Basketball team this year, from the agonizing one point loss to Oceanside to our Dash for Cash at our home game against Ramona lwhich we won, by the wayl. The Dash for Cash, in which the holder of the ticket stub number is drawn, lets someone from the audience pick up all the scat- tered one dollar bills hefshe can in 30 seconds. This year, Allison Miller won 20 plus dollars from Coach Marsh's idea. With players like Rich Prusinski, Jeff Baglio, and Leonard Rodriguez, they couldn't go too far wrong. C ifarsity Boys Basketball
