Final stretches and a look of determi- nation combined with a sub- dued nervousness, and they head for the stating line. Heads bow .over blue and gold uni- forms as a small prayer is said, and last minute advice from the coach gives the girls a new kind of strength. They line up for the starter's gun. . . . And they're off! SPHS has come to race for yet another victory . . . In keeping with their season with a purpose, the girl's Cross Country Varsity team had an- other stellar season. Led by Kerry Panno and Alchera Cle- menshaw, the running Eagles defended their league title. The team went to the Kenny Re- gionals Invitational. Alchera Clemenshaw, coming in firstin the juniorfsenior unseated race, let the competition know that San Pasqual was not to go un- challenged. Under the coach's trained eyes, the team went from first place in the league for the seventh consecutive year to a CIF victory by the top ten girls: the third time in the past four years.
