Band ocal Ensemble Jnder the stern discipline of Ms. Dominguez, the band von the most sweepstakes ever in San Pasqual's history his year. Thursday night practices as well as first peri- md and after school time made the band one finely .uned instrument. They played for home football games, pep rallies, festivals, Pops Concert, and the Win- .er Concert. The band was invited to play in the Chaffy Fournament of Champions and other prestigious com- Jetitions. This year the Vocal Ensemble had an aura of profes- sionalism around it that made it stand out in a crowd. It might have come from their new black dresses and electric blue sequins that they made themselves Knot to mention the nice appearance of the menl but what was really impressive was the amount of performances they did. The singing group of eighteen went everywhere from churches, mobile home parks clubs, and organiza- tions to the elementary and junior high schools in the area both entertaining and getting future prospects for the San Pasqual vocal program. They performed at SPHS for the Winter, Spring, and Pops Concerts and sang in the Vineyard as well. During the second semes- ter with Mr. Enoscoe the Vocal Ensemble added chore- ography to their act. With all the applause they re- ceived this year, the members really have something to carol about. Dance Team Flags Q 5 The SPHS Dance Team, otherwise known as All that Glitters , shone bright this year. Their combined tal- ents brought the team to many facets of entertaining people. In their bold blue bodysuits and flashy tinsel, this included our wild pep rallies, half-time field shows at home football games, and Saturday competitions against other high schools. Touring the Los Angeles indoor circuit in the spring took concentration. They spent time trying to put as many professional and meti- culate moves as possible into their routines. Team uni- ty, high expectations, and lots of practice brought them to the top. Dance Team: Bottom Row KL to RJ: Darci Maher, Shawn Millerg Kristen Haag, Kara Larseng Dana Strickland, Kristi Hegleg Stacey Berryg Kim Lipinski, Dyan O'Donnell, and Georgina Ortiz. Organizations Among the smartly marching band and graceful moves of the dance team, during football game half-times wa the flowing colors of the tall flags unit. This sharp loolj and visual impact was what first intrigued Captain Lin- da Walker to the flag corps, but she realized that it really took coordination and an acquired skill to put the flags into perfect unison for performances. The tall flags showed up for pep rallies, football games, and parades with the band in the fall, and then went to the indoor L.A. circuit as a team for the spring in flashy new uniforms. The Pops Concert was a whirling finish- ing touch to the team's year. Under Linda Walker, Karrie Holland, and J olynn Sanders the team was pret- ty much self-sufficientg small enough that the girls be- came good friends and could share fun times as well as hard work. 3 Future Farmers Of America Among the trees and cows in the Agriculture Department, sending interesting aromas through the tennis courts, is a division of the Future Farmers of America. To join, members have to be enrolled in an agri- culture class. Conventions are attended for elections and such, and then our members get in- volved in other projects - ele- mentary school programs, con- valesant home visits, field days, judging, and even capturing a first place with their Christmas Day parade float. The club is for skills from bricklaying to nursing and members have meetings and mock competitions.
