Mi Pat Ross Principal Door Always Open To Principal Walk into the front office and take a look at Mr. Ross' door - it'll be open. Most students pass through SPHS and never get the privilege to meet our director. Did you know that he's always wanted to be there to help students out? He came from the Fast to teach at Escondido High in 1957. He was there as the proud principal on Orange Glen s opening day in 1962. After that he directed the action at Escondido High from 1976 and finally set his sights on SPHS in 1983. Three time s a charm and Mr. Ross made his third year here the best ever. He improved the food services at lunch and' helped us cope with staying here. Test scores improved and our pride in academics grew even more this year. The tennis courts were entirely refinished. Mr. Ross kept up our rig - ous relationship with Burroughs which included the cele- bration of the corporation s 100th anniversary. In conclusion our principal sees himself as a general man- ager because everything is ultimately his responsibility. He s only here to help us and asks that anyone who develops an idea wants an opinion needs a service or would just like to know why a decision was made to remember that his door is always open.
