ViLay it --n. 1 . ,W ' slr Sobel Hopes To Pedal His Way To The Olympics Among the sophomores at SPHS this past year was David Eobel. An organizer of the Bike Club, and avid bicyclist, he as the dream of making a show at the 1992 Olympic Games. At the moment, Sobel tries to get in at least two to three iours a day, four to five days a week of pedaling and intends no build that slowly upwards. Sobel got in his first season in :he spring, on Fiesta Island. He'd like to get a coach and mprove on the road. After San Pasqual, he'd like to try out 'or the Junior Olympic Team in Colorado or get on a colle- giate team in the west. The Junior Olympics travel the world 'or a year and gives good hopesf' says Sobel. And from zhere? If he doesn't get on the Olympic Team, he'll remain 'iding, possibly around Europe bacause it's really a Europe- ln sport . He looks up to the likes of Greg Le Mond because rf his good attitude in racing and yes, his victories. Dreams Hon't come easyg but Sobel is willing to work for his.
