Sophomore Class Cfficers Step Forward This year's sophomore class officers were involved in a vari- ety of things. President David Emerson was on varsity foot- ball and track, and enjoys skiing, golf, and listening to music. He's thinking about majoring in businessfeconomics at UCLA. Vice president Nicole Maine was on varsity basket- ball and tennis and enjoys skiing. She plans to go to UCLA and play professional tennis. Secretary Nicole Atherton was involved in swimming. She's won ribbons in English and likes to watch TV and listen to music. She plans to major in newscasting or management. Treasurer Ric Aschbrenner was on JV football and baseball. He enjoys surfing and skiing. He'd like to attend UCLA. As a group, they organized their float for Homecoming, The Three Little Pigs. They kept their class informed and had some opinions of the year's policies, including a dislike of the new tardy system, and such short grading periods. lt's great to know you have all those people behind you, said Emerson. if li V' Day 1 V . i f Faucher's Art Decorates Downtown Jn October 26, 1985, April Faucher won second :lace for the comical themei' in a window lecorating contest at JC Penny's. The picture if famous Halloween favorites, combined with mer talent, earned her 25 dollars and a luncheon my the sponsoring Rotary Club. Faucher en- oyed beginning ceramics as a freshman but Jressing required classes ended that all too soon. However, this past year she's been busy lesigning spirit ribbons, sketching for friends, :reating a comic strip called James Cat: O07M 'or the school paper, and making use of the :chool's supplies to pursue her hobby. Faucher vas the Vice President of the Craft Guild which she's been in for two years. She'd like to become in art teacher for junior high levels or possibly expand in other areas. Be watching for April ?aucher's work in the years to come.
