They discovered a new side to their opponents - a frenzy for fairness - and planned to take advantage of it. Both teams played three dollars extra on their jerseys to go to legitimate referees for the game. The Uhiredl' ones were replaced with people usually in the audience, Mr. Salas and Mr. Marcus among them. They practiced hard, and mottos such as Pain for Dane and no owees made them mentally pre- pared for anything. Confident in both of- fense and defense, they believed a fair game could see them to an unheard of win over the seniors. A. Juniors trying to keep their balance on the straight line. Seniors Were Out For Reveng- This year was made unique in the twisted effects of tradition when Powder Puff season came around, and the senior girls were thinking hard. Last year, as juniors, they'd beaten both traditions. This year, it seemed as though fickle fate would re- peat itself, and the seniors were out for revenge or blood, which- ever they could get. Practices were rigorous, and the seniors who were caught in anything gold had to do laps for remind- ing Coach Dabo of juniors. They shared the practice field with their opponents, as well as malicious stares and ominous chants. pf 1.7, 4 E f 'fhaiww - ,, .. ,,,, Mtrrffnawr ,' . ..,,.. f22-- WE: , 7. ,, , W-, , ,,,,, . .....,Mu'f . , - W., . Powder Puff Assembl It was a pep rally like no other, honoring a once-a- year event -- the Powder Puff football game. Many of the traditions were carried out faithfully by the participating girls and their coaches during the as- sembly. The Seniors had their slow jog around the gym, showing off personalized blue jerseys which read, among others, Luttio Dies to the tune of United , They sat in seats of honor and stared down the Juniors who weren't impressed. From a mob of gold jerseys in the bleachers, they began clapping and chanting their own opinions. The Seniors simply read the daily paper with cool detachment. Other sports were mentioned and Ms. Marcus our favorite home-making teacher who was leaving for the dis- trict office, was bid a standing farewell. Then, in came the -Powder Puff cheerleaders. They were the real highlight of the rally, as both sides could laugh at their crazy cheers, hairy legs in short skirts, and the make up on male faces. The hour-long rally put tension up another notch and gave spirit to the teams. 'um m W 5 i E 2 Q i 2 6 55 B A. Seniors standing by their seats of honor. 3 B.Seniors, seniors where you've been?
