PRINCIPAL ' S MESSAGE Many of the outstanding events of the past year are recorded in this fine yearbook. As you reflect on the experiences of the past I encourage you to thank the Lord for life with all its blessings. And may you determine in a greater way to dedicate your life to your Heavenly Father each day in the year to come. There is no limit to the usefulness of one. . I urge you to become better acquainted with the Master Teacher. Cooperate with Him and experience the joy and satisfaction that comes from unlimited service for the good of others. Build on your past successes so you can be of greater service to God today and in the future. Make the failures in your past experience stepping stones to further success. It is my desire that you will receive the following report when your Father in heaven reviews not a year but the full span of your life. Well done, thou and good and faithful servant . . enter thou into the joy of thy Lord. This can be your experience. DEDICATION How can one show gratitude for two who have done so much. You ' ve helped us through our days by teaching us, helping us and listening to us far beyond what is necessary. Your influence has lifted us all, and your loving Christian attitude has brought you our true love and thanks in return. Elder and Mrs. Gifford, in gratitude for your devoted service, we dedicate the 1979 Alape to you. It was Karlenc ' s habit each morning and evening to have private devotions. During these special times she gained the strength to face each day with courage. In her own quiet unobtrusive way Karlene made an impact on many lives. She had the rare gift of being sensitive to the needs of others even before i heir need was expressed. Caring deeply for others was a trail she carried from childhood right up until the day of her death. Karlene believed in living life to the fullest and was actively involved in the Valley Echo, gymnastics, music, the Four- Year Club and senior class activities. Bui no matter how busy she was, people came first She would often stop and talk with a friend who just needed someone to listen. Finding unique, creative ways to make others happy was her joy and specially. Before she passed away it was her desire that a message be taken to her San Pasqual family. She wanted them to know that she loved them. If Karlene had one last message for us all it would probably be. Friends, Jesus is coming very soon. Be ready and I ' ll meet you in heaven. Our Christ-centered campus offers a wide choice of academic programs in an atmosphere of clean, unpolluted air and water and breathtaking scenery that delights the eye and refreshes the mind. That ' s why Mrs White spoke these words at the College ' s dedication in Angwin back in 1909. She said, God wanted us here, and He has placed us here I believe, as you walk through these grounds, you will come to the same decision — that the Lord designed this place for us. We ' re the only truly rural Adventist campus left, thanks, we feel, to this far-sighted messenger of God If you would like to join us and put Christ in the center of your life at a college designed for you, write to us at the Office of Admissions and Records, PUC, Angwin, CA 94508, or call us at (707) 965-6336 Pacific Union College MWNf lt X ATH1 «Al y v VJ y M l .p; «Sr; a rx VX JV a- J q X sS I o- iW v -JO? ■rnajyy n ry fiy fiyvcJ 3T Plt 7? 1 ' TP f sj ryzrv m - ' np u s y s ««■rw-f 0£fiy fp •Wp q - rvi p fW d Palomar Savings has what a saver reall y wants Palomar Savings ill ■nd Loan Association | ll ESCONDIDO: (Main Office) 260 West Grand Ave..
